This illusion is 18' tall by 5' wide, located in a 3 story glass elevator shaft which originates underground and ends up above ground with a breathtaking view of Lake Tahoe.

The goal was to create an illusion that you start in a submarine environment and ascend to the surface. The Steamer Tahoe is a historic cruise ship that once dominated lake travel. The S.S. Tahoe went to the bottom of the lake off Glenbrook in about 400 feet of water over 67 years ago.

The elevator mural intends to create a fantasy illusion, both ascending and descending in the elevator through the use of light flow and the turbulent bubbles. more murals
